I’ve seen my fair share of groom’s fashion faux pas, but there are only a few areas where you can go wrong. Let me guide you to avoid those pitfalls with a few of my favourite styling tips for grooms (and groomsmen) at a beach wedding.
1. FITTED CLOTHING
In your photographs, fitted clothing always looks better than loose clothing. This is especially crucial for a beach wedding in Cancun or the Riviera Maya. You don’t want baggy clothes that look out of place or get caught flapping in the wind. Choose fitted attire to ensure you look your best.
2. WEAR SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN THE REST OF THE GUYS
Stand out by wearing something a little different from the rest of the guys. Consider wearing a jacket while the rest of the guys opt for a shirt and pants. This sets you apart and helps you stand out in the photographs.
3. SOLID COLOURS
This is definitely a styling tip from a photographer, opt for solids instead of patterns. Patterns can distract and draw attention away from the main focus. Digital cameras can also struggle with small patterns, resulting in odd effects. When in doubt, choose solid colours or large patterns to ensure your pictures look fantastic and capture the moment beautifully.
4. KEEP IT SIMPLE
Keeping it simple with a nice shirt and fitted pants is often enough for your beach wedding. Depending on your vision and the bride’s dress, this could be perfect. Talk to your fiance to ensure you both look great together. You don’t get to see her dress beforehand, so communication is key to complementing each other on the big day.
I hope you found these styling tips for grooms at a beach wedding helpful. You might also find my post on choosing the right shirt helpful as well.
Have a great wedding!
